I’m showing a new piece at Skate your Fate, Saturday, August 3, 6-11 PM @thefridgedc 516 8th Street SE, REAR, Washington, DC 20003

This Saturday @ the Fridge 5-9 PM A very special show.
Saturday, February 25, 5-9pm @the_fridge_dc
In the last few years, I met an artist that everyday astounds me with her strength and humanity. She LOVES her students and is a huge champion of seeing them through to success. I’m talking about DECOY, of course, Alicia Cosnahan.
Come help me and the rest of the community celebrate and support this art program at the Perry Center at the Fridge this Saturday. There will be pieces for sale and you can always make a contribution.

During this class, participants will get the chance to paint a mural with world-renowned artist Gaia. All ages and skill levels welcomed, and all materials are included for a suggested donation of $20.

Gaia’s art is best known for his large scale renderings of human and animal forms, often in states of hybridization. Animals fuse with humans or other animals, blending visual characteristics and layers of spiritual and mythological relevance.(Taken from http://gaiastreetart.com)

The Fridge

The Fridge,  7/9/10
This is a moment of silence for Yas Bones.  I wish I was featuring him and telling you to go get tattooed by him.  I met Yas as he was featured in Decoy Ink at the Fridge as Decoy’s in house tattoo artist.  He painted these lovely roses that are still on the outside of the Fridge (516 Rear 8th ST SE).  I was going to go and reshoot the piece, but then I noticed Decoy’s angel might be pulling Yas off to heaven… ;)
We miss and love you, Yas!  So young and so talented, gone too soon.

Wednesday, September 1 at The Fridge DC, 7pm to 11pm, located in the rear alley of 516 8th St SE (across from Matchbox, Capitol Hill)
Live painting: each live painting will be inspired by and painted using a flavor of Vitamin Water of the artist’s choosing
Complimentary Vitamin Water
Complimentary Cocktails courtesy of Bacardi
Community Wall: attendees to express themselves through paint
DJ 2-Tone Jones: hip-hop, soul, rare grooves
21+ only
Concept
The synergies and analogies of symbolism between the soul of an artist and the medium they use are limitless but none best exemplifies that relationship better than paint from an artist’s brush to their canvas, It’s a fluid relationship, both literally and figuratively, where the paint is a conduit for the artist to express their thoughts, feelings, and spirit.
AM Radio artists, through the creation of live art murals, will present this symbolism by intergrating an actual beverage into their paints. Each artist will select a flavor of Vitamin Water around which to both build a concept for their piece as well as mix into their paints which will allow for a truly authentic experience.
