This Saturday and Sunday our home is on the 54th Annual Capitol Hill Restoration Society House and Garden Tour. My mother and I go on the tour every year and this year we are one of the featured homes. We are still working hard to get everything ready. If you’d like to read about our house and the others click here.
Besides my work, art includes: Contemporary Nova Scotia folk artists Barry Colpitts, Murray Gallant, Reed Timmons and William Roach; Florida Highwaymen painter Harold Newton; Eastern Market’s David Kessler and Agnes Ainilian; street artists and muralists Stephen “ESPO” Powers, James “Dalek” Marshall, Asad “UlTRA” Walker, DECOY and Spencer LeBouef.
I hope you get to see this, if not, we’re having a party/opening the following weekend… Can someone bring me a massage chair?

Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 2-8pm at 633 E St SE (rear alley)
Albus Cavus artists and students have been working out of The Freezer, a space provided by Alex Gold of The Fridge.  In the recent heat, the Summer Youth employees have produced artwork for Ballou High School, several voting hand sculptures, a snazzy line of Tshirts and designs for more murals.  All that in only 6 weeks with no air conditioning.  I get faint just thinking about it.
Please tour the studio to learn about current public art projects and donate to keep the workspace open… Discuss Future Murals on along Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.  Art Exhibit + Auction and Raffle; Music and Performances; Students’ Presentations; Refreshments… I hear we are grilling, so come get your eat on.
On August 7, 2010 from 2pm to 8pm at 633 E Street SE in rear alley, in walking distance from Eastern Market Metro.
If you cannot attend, but would like to donate, please use our donation page.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be showing at the same event that Tabi Bonney is headlining.  Long ago, I shot some images of Tabi while his video for Jetsetter was being shot on the rooftop of the building where we’ll be partying on Saturday …
Hope to see you then!
